The equipment available includes conduction and measurements setups (metals & insulators), convection study setups (Natural and Forced), Radiation set ups for emissivity measurements, boiling and condensation studies etc. A set up developed in-house for study of heat exchangers in also available.
Thermal engineering Lab is very important for B.Tech. students of Mechanical Engineering. The equipment available includes various types of Diesel Engines and petrol engines, Air compresses, Air conditions, Boilers etc.
Students are imparted practical knowledge on different Engine conditions with various - systems for enhancement of their knowledge. Students also get practical knowledge about minimization of engine emissions by different techniques with lesser inputs.
Knowledge of different Engineering Workshop practices are essential for all branches of Engineering. Trades like Fitting, Carpentry, Foundry, Black Smithy, Tin Smithy, Plumbing, House-wiring fare taught to all engineering students in their workshop sessions. The knowledge gained here goes a long way to educate the student in engineering applications of workshop technology as its use in day to day life.
This also enables the students to learn about different types of tools used for different works and also correct way of carrying out various operations.
This lab is caters to learning on a crucially important area for mechanical engineering students related to manufacture of different parts with high accuracy. Students get through knowledge on use of high accuracy measuring tools like Sine bar, Slip Gauges, Vernier Callipers, Micrometer, Dial Indicator, Surface measuring devices like Sprit Level Bottle, etc. Students get practical knowledge about different kinds of accuracy tests such as leveling of machines and jobs.
This laboratory caters to the need of introducing students to practical aspects of Engineering Metallurgy and the available equipment needs this purpose.
It is very important for all mechanical engineering students to identify the various kinds of metals by their micro structures for which good metallurgical microscopes are available. It also involves fine polishing of surface of the metal to identify correct type of metal and micro-structure. Students get knowledge on ways of identifying metals and their applications for different engineering works.
This is very important for Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering students. This gives wide knowledge about practical aspects of Fluid Machines related systems working on hydraulic principles. This Laboratory also includes hydraulic machines like turbines and pumps, for hydraulic power production and utilization. Students will get through knowledge on production of hydro electricity from various kinds of turbines.
It is very important Lab for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering students to understand scientific way of working of various kinds of instruments like pressure gauge, strain gauge, displacement, temperature measurement etc. for different measurements encountered in engineering. The experimental setups are design to give knowledge of this including processes of calibration and correction.
The prosperity of any society or country is directly dependent upon the production and productivity of every activity of economical development .The main objective of the laboratory is to impart knowledge to students on different manufacturing techniques through study of different processes like Welding, Casting, sheet metal operations and plastic molding etc in Production Technology.
The main objective of this laboratory is to provide basic knowledge on different machines like lathe, shaper, planner milling and grinding and to perform some basic operations on these machine tools. Machine tools lab familiarizes students with processes of production of all manufactured goods using appropriate machine tools.
This is an important laboratory for Mechanical and Civil Engineering Students and is a part of design stream. The modeling of the components, analysis in various fields of Mechanical Engineering are done in this laboratory. Available software packages like AutoCad Pro-engineer, Catia, Ansys - CFD packages are used for design and development of models and subsequently for analysis. Students are extensively trained in the use of these packages for engineering applications.
